A’bad ranks 15th in Smart City Mission
Here’s some good news. Aurangabad city has managed to improve its ranking in the Smart City Mission, in the last three months. The city has bagged the 15th national rank, taking a huge jump from its the 45th position in January 2022.
Thanks to efforts of the Aurangabad Smart City Development Corporation Limited (ASCDCL), the March 31 deadline fixed by the union government to get maximum development works started, could be fulfilled.
The Smart City Mission declares the national rankings every three months after reviewing the progress of various works “We have tried our best to get maximum developmental works started or done before the given deadline of March 31. The efforts put in by the ASCDCL team helped in improving the national ranking of the city from the 45th in January to the 15th in April, “ASCDCL chief executive officer A K Pandey and additional chief executive officer Arun Shinde told media persons.
The ASCDCL had approved 18 works of Rs 635 crore before the end of the financial year, while their work orders would be issued after obtaining bank guarantee from designated contractors in 8-10 days, they added.
